leaps and bounds

As I write this October 1 and backdate it to September (you’ll understand why) I can’t help but feel immense gratitude for the journey we’ve taken the last couple of months.

In June we got married.

July, I had major surgery.

August, I spent healing from said surgery…. and, we closed on a house August 29.

September weekends and evenings were spent entirely renovating in order to move in. Unfortunately the house that we purchased was smoked in ever since it was built, and wasn’t maintained very well. We did everything from painting every wall in the house, bringing in plumbers and electricians, to completely gutting the bathroom (sub-floor and all) and replacing it all.

I remember sitting on the kitchen floor painting the cupboards thinking this would be a never ending process, but it has ended as of today, at least for this year. Outside of putting together Jeffrey’s closet and bookshelf when it arrives, we’re done. We really hustled hard to make this place livable and enjoyable, and I’m so happy with everything we’ve accomplished in the month since we’ve owned it.

Obviously I’m not going to share where we live, the Internet is still the Internet after all, but I will share some photos of our updates because I’m damn proud of it.
